Multiple Teams · Falcons Baseball Shutout Augusta Christian For the Win

TURNER THROWS SHUTOUT AS BEN LIPPEN DEFEATS AUGUSTA CHRISTIAN

Nat Turner didn’t allow a single run and only allowed one infield hit as Ben Lippen defeated Augusta Christian 15-0 on Tuesday. The game was originally scheduled as a home game for the Falcons but the wet field conditions put them on the road to Augusta.

Ben Lippen secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a grand slam by Tyler Estridge, a walk by Tripp Williams, a single by Robert Satcher, a single by Tucker Johnson, and a walk by Lee Metts. Tripp Williams homered for the 2nd time for the Falcons in the top of the 4th that plated two runs.  That is 2 homeruns on the season for the freshman!

Nat Turner earned the win for Ben Lippen. He went four innings, surrendering zero runs, one hit, striking out five, and walking one. He is a perfect 9-0 on the season.

Ben Lippen finishes Region play with a perfect 8-0 record which should position them well heading into the playoffs.  In the last 18 innings of baseball played, the Falcons have homered 6 times and scored 50 runs!  It’s time for one final regular season game to get prepared for the playoffs.

The Falcons host PAC this Thursday and it is Senior Night.  Please come out to Falcon Field and bid the seniors farewell; they will be recognized promptly at 6:30 and then the game will start immediately after.  The projected starter on the mound is Eddie Kung.  It will likely not be their last home game, as the Falcons will most likely host a playoff game Monday, May 1st.
