Ben Lippen has named Eric Hamner as the Program Director of Cross Country and Track & Field. Hamner comes to Ben Lippen after a successful four-year career at Ohio Christian University as the Head Track & Field Coach and the Head Cross Country Coach.
The Ohio native was a six-time state qualifier at Watkins Memorial High School in Ohio (Hall of Fame 2015 inductee), an eight-time national qualifier at Tiffin University (Hall of Fame 2014 inductee), and ran for the Columbus Running Company for several years following college.
Hamner has experienced coaching success at both the high school and collegiate level. In seven years as a high school coach, he had five state-qualifying teams, 32 state qualifiers, over 45 All-District athletes, eight All-State athletes, two Conference Coach of the Year awards, and one District Coach of the Year award.
Coach Hamner has coached at Ohio State University, Heidelberg University and, most recently, at Ohio Christian University. While coaching at the collegiate level over the past eight years, he had five national qualifying teams, 11 All-Americans, 46 national qualifiers, and two Conference Coach of the Year awards.
Eric and his wife, Carrie, have three children: Sawyer, Miles, and June. “My family and I are excited about our new opportunities and becoming part of the Ben Lippen community. We feel the Lord has called us to South Carolina, and we believe He has great plans.”
